Life before Teesside High School
After completing my BA (hons) professional language studies at University of Westminster, I worked in marketing for the architecture and design industries in London. In 2016 I trained as a TEFL teacher and moved to Sicily to teach English as a Second Language. On my return to the UK, I both taught ESL online and worked as a TA in schools around the North East. I gained my PGCE with distinction from Durham University in 2022, and joined the MFL department at Teesside High in September of that year.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
No two days are ever the same!
What do you enjoy most about Teesside High School?
Having been a pupil here myself, one of my most enduring memories of THS is the nurturing, supportive environment which I am pleased to say is still a fundamental part of the school’s
character. I am extremely proud to belong to the THS family. The school has a rich and vibrant history, the foundations on which our strong ideals and dedication to excellent teaching and learning are built.
What is your favourite time of the year?
I am a keen gardener and cook, therefore I love the beginning of autumn as it’s harvest time. I also thrive on the anticipation and excitement of getting everyone ‘back to school’ and looking forward to all the exciting projects for the coming academic year.
What do others say about you?
People tell me I am patient, kind, passionate and creative and that I’m better at cooking than singing!
