Life before Teesside High School

I studied English Language and Media Communication at Newcastle University before graduating in 2010. From there, I secured a graduate role at a full-servicing marketing agency in Manchester, managing PR and communications accounts for some of the country’s leading public sector organisations. I moved back to the lovely Teesside in 2012 to take up a Marketing Manager position at a local sixth form college.

I completed my MA (Cert) in Educational Leadership before joining the Teesside High School team in 2016 and more recently studied an MBA at Teesside University, graduating in 2022.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I love showing prospective families around our school. You cannot predict what you will see, but our students shine when you stop and ask them questions about what being a student at THS is ‘really like’ – their responses fill me with pride.

What do you enjoy most about Teesside High School?

The close-knit, family environment. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. It is also an absolute privilege to come and work every day in a place with such beautiful grounds.

What is your favourite time of the year?

The summer holidays – when I get most of my planning done!
