Life before Teesside High School

I have recently moved from Cambridge where I taught after finishing my PGCE and where I also completed a Masters in Education. Before that I lived in Glasgow during my undergraduate studies which included Archaeology and Celtic Civilisation as well as Classics.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

The most enjoyable part of my job is the conversations I have with students. In particular when individuals, or even whole classes, have ‘lightbulb moments’ and a Latin grammar point just clicks or when, in discussions about life in the ancient world, students think of something I haven’t thought of before.

What do you enjoy most about Teesside High School?

Being new to Teesside High School, I am enjoying getting to know the staff and students who have all been so welcoming and helpful.

What is your favourite time of the year?

My favourite times of year are around the autumn and winter holidays like Halloween and Christmas. Despite the days getting shorter and the weather getting colder, there are bright lights and celebrations to look forward to.

What do others say about you?

I like to think that students, colleagues and friends would all say that they feel like they can come to me if they need help with something, especially last minute.
