Co-Curricular Opportunities in Nursery

We create a sense of awe and wonder in Nursery by designing a range of opportunities to enhance learning outside of the classroom.

To complement their topic work, our children take part in high quality educational visits off-site, from exploring how plants grow at RHS Harlow Carr, travelling by train to the Railway Museum in York and enjoying theatrical productions live on stage.

Our boys and girls particularly enjoy their visits to our very own Forest School, situated within our magnificent school grounds and staffed by a qualified practitioner. The children enjoy exploring nature and the changing seasons; growing plants in the school garden, using the mud kitchen, investigating wildlife and, everyone’s favourite, roasting marshmallows on the campfire!

Our youngest pupils are also encouraged to participate in our exceptional co-curricular programme which boasts a variety of exciting lunchtime and after school activities, including Green Fingers gardening club, sports club and Once Upon A Time story club. Our dedicated staff and specialist team of coaches and instructors build on current interests and explore new passions to provide fun opportunities for all age groups. We also enjoy an active guest speaker programme in our early years setting which allows parents and local businesses to talk to our pupils about their career or particular life experience.

When your child joins our Nursery, they join an intentionally small, thriving and integrated community at Teesside High where they are invited to take part in everything our 3-18 school offers; attending whole school assemblies, competing in sports days, enjoying paired reading with a Sixth Form student helper and contributing to plays and productions organised by specialist departments, to name but a few.
