The build up to Easter is well under way – Head’s Blog
Friday 21 March 2025 | By Erin McKeownWith only a few weeks of the spring term remaining, the build up to Easter is well under way.
Easter preparations
In the spirit of Easter, our wonderful Learning Support Team has organised an Easter egg raffle in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Raffle tickets are available via ParentPay, and they will also be on sale during the interval of Little Shop of Horrors – thank you for your generous support!
Excitement in Prep School
The return to school began with lots of fun and creativity for our Prep School as they celebrated World Book Day. It was lovely to see pupils from across different year groups working closely together and I echo Mrs Carson in thanking Mr Serino and Mrs Ahmed for visiting and reading to our pupils.
Elsewhere in Prep, pupils have been enjoying many educational activities and outings. Alongside their Upper Prep Music Club, the children enjoyed a visit to the Glasshouse International Centre recently. This was a very enjoyable experience for the pupils, and the feedback Mr Wing received from parents was wonderful, too, citing that the group was very inspired by the trip. A fantastic accolade, and very much the reason why staff work hard to provide such opportunities.
Sporting fixtures
Physical activity has been prominent throughout the Senior School recently, with sport fixtures galore. All year groups have been playing exceptionally but I have to give a special mention to the U13 girls who have shone all year in their netball, representing the school in a number of national competitions. They recently missed out on a Sisters n Sport National Final place after losing on Golden Goal against Rossall School. I cannot express enough our pride in their achievements and their resilience in defeat. A big thank you to Mrs Rodgers for all the support she has given this team.
On the subject of Sisters n Sport, I am delighted to announce that our U12 netball team has landed themselves a place in the National Bowl Competition Final Four next Monday – we are all rooting for you, girls!
Rising star
Finally, I want to say a huge well done to Year 11 student, Elodie, who stars in the new Netflix masterpiece, Adolescence. Not only is her performance and the series a fascinating watch, but the time and dedication she has put into her acting outside of school is admirable. I think I speak on behalf of everybody at Teesside High School when I say we know Elodie will go on to achieve amazing things and we cannot wait to follow her journey in the coming months and years.
