Team GB Heptathlete Lucy Turner to visit Teesside High School
Thursday 13 March 2025 | By Erin McKeownWe are super excited to announce that Team GB Heptathlete Lucy Turner will be visiting Teesside High School on Wednesday 19 March.
Prep School pupils will have the chance to listen to Lucy’s story and ask questions about her athletics career, before taking part in a sponsored fitness circuit in order to raise funds for further sports equipment for the school.
More about Lucy Turner
Growing up in Hebburn, Lucy’s love for sports was ignited at summer camps where she tried and loved nearly every activity. Lucy was selected to represent Team GB for the Heptathlon in 2017. She competes across seven disciplines; 100-metre hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200 metres, long jump, javelin and 800 metres. Despite doubting her prospects due to her height, Lucy found inspiration in Jessica Ennis-Hill.
Q&A Session
Lucy Turner will lead a Q&A with pupils where she will share her incredible sporting journey in a fun and interactive assembly. Once pupils have listened attentively to Lucy’s story, they will be given the opportunity to ask any burning questions they have about the world of athletics and succeeding in sport.
Sponsored Fitness Circuit
We hope that Prep School pupils will be full of energy as there will be an array of different fun exercises for the children to enjoy, including spotty dogs, squat jumps and star jumps! It will be a brilliant way for the pupils to have fun whilst staying active.
We hope for this to be a brilliant day enjoyed by all.
