Senior School admissions at Teesside High
Friday 01 March 2024 | By Samantha HockneyTeesside High School provides a unique Senior School experience for pupils aged 11-18. We provide a space where pupils can feel challenged and supported academically, stretched to reach their full potential and achieve outstanding results, but also a safe, secure and nurturing environment where our young people can develop into independent thinkers, ready to take on the next step in their journey.
Academic success is just one part of our school. We are proud to push beyond the traditional boundaries of education – moving away from teaching pupils to simply pass exams. From Year 1, Teesside High School pupils are engaged in the innovative ‘Thinking Curriculum’, a unique programme which ensures all students leave school with the skills necessary to contribute to a rapidly changing global workforce. Our students are critical thinkers, problem solvers and lifelong learners. We have been recognised for our ‘transformational approaches to learning’ (Good Schools Guide, 2023).
Pastoral care at THS is unrivalled. Happy children are positive learners – every individual’s welfare and wellbeing is important to us and our dedicated team of Senior School pastoral staff go above and beyond each day to ensure our students are cared for in every aspect of their experience.
We are judged to be Excellent by the Independent Schools Inspectorate and were recently inspected by the Good Schools Guide, who recognised the ‘endemic sense of support and care’ for all pupils and ‘something for everyone on the club’s front’.
“Lots of schools throw around the word ‘family’ but here it feels appropriate.” Good Schools Guide, 2023
We believe our school is a wonderful place to learn and grow. If you wish to speak to our admissions team following your state school allocation, we would be delighted to hear from you.
