Head’s Blog – End of 2023-24 Academic Year
Friday 05 July 2024 | By System AdminWe have reached the end of the 2023-24 academic year, and what a year it has been! From our Family Fireworks Display, countless school productions and PTA Christmas Market to our 125th anniversary Summer Fair, Speech Day, termly concerts, LAMDA showcases and everything in between – we have had so many occasions where the THS community has come together to celebrate.
End of an era for Year 11 and Year 13
The last few weeks of the summer term is the perfect time to make those extra special school memories. We were delighted to organise a celebration for two wonderful year groups at our Year 11 Prom and Year 13 Leavers’ Meal in recent weeks. We would like to wish these year groups the very best of luck in their next steps; we look forward to seeing you again on your respective results day in August.
Dragon Days
I was beyond impressed with our Prep School pupils during the performance of their musical Dragon Days on Monday evening. All pupils performed with confidence and great expression, and I thought that the show itself was hilarious. Thank you to all staff and parents involved for all of your hard work and time spent on costumes, the set and I imagine lots and lots of line learning!
End of term Rewards Trip
On Wednesday, we had a fantastic day marking the end of the academic year at the whole school rewards trip to Flamingo Land. The day was filled with rides, animals and a few screams from staff and students alike as they braved the attractions!
Celebration of Achievement
It has been wonderful to see you all at our Celebration of Achievement events in the last couple of days. The 2023-24 academic year has given us so many notable pupil achievements, and it is fitting that we recognise both incredible attainment and fantastic progress in these presentations. Overleaf you will find our 2023-24 Senior Sports Award winners; it seems fitting to share these with the entire school community in what has been an incredible year for our PE Department. Here’s hoping for even more success in the years to come.
A reminder that the autumn term begins on Thursday 5 September. With best wishes for a memorable summer break.
