Head’s blog – autumn term
Monday 03 October 2022 | By System AdminIt has been a busy couple of weeks with many exciting trips, activities and events happening across Prep School and Senior School. It has been wonderful to see the calendar so full with sport fixtures, Tea-Time Concerts and visits to the theatre.
This week, we are celebrating students who received awards in Speech and Drama examinations and sporting achievements. Congratulations to Oliver, Evie, Kiyan, Layla, Maia and Megan who all received awards for their dedication both inside and outside of school to a range of sports. They have shown us fantastic leadership and teamwork skills through sporting fixtures and lessons. Making the awards very well deserved! Well done to our Speech and Drama students who all received a wonderful result in their examination. I am delighted to see how much this subject has expanded!
Last weekend, we welcomed over 50 families into school for our first Whole School Open Day of the new academic year. It was lovely to see so many faces, both new and old and I cannot wait to welcome you all back over the coming weeks.
I would like to say a huge thank you to our students across the school who helped out on the day. Whether you were touring parents, performing, playing sports or helping out in your favourite subject, you were all a credit to the school. We received some wonderful feedback from those visiting us, so you should be all very proud of yourselves. We hope to have you all helping out again at our next Open Day in January.
For our upcoming Year 7 students, I invite you to our Open Evening taking place on Tuesday 4 October. For those looking to join our Sixth Form, our Sixth Form Open Evening takes place on Wednesday 12 October. Both of these events are essential to learn all the information you will need about your child’s transition into the next steps of their education. I hope to see you there.
This week, I was excited to release tickets to one of the highlights of the autumn calendar. Our annual Family Firework Display is always a sell out event and we are expecting record numbers through the door once again. We recommend that you get your tickets early to avoid any disappointment. Please bring your friends – everyone is welcome!
