Exceptional Science performance at Teesside High School

Teesside High School’s reputation for exceptional examination performance in Science subjects has been strengthened once again.

Biology, Chemistry and Physics subjects each achieved 100% pass rates, with almost 80% 7-9 grades across the board.

Students sitting Further Mathematics also achieved a 100% pass rate and 100% prestigious 8-9 grades.

Kirsty Mackenzie, Head at Teesside High School, said: “Teesside High School boasts an incredible academic record in STEM subjects and we are delighted to see this continue today.

“For four of every five Science students to achieve a 7, 8 or 9 grade, the highest possible standard, is nothing short of outstanding.

“Our staff work incredibly hard to inspire curiosity and enable students to think beyond the bounds of the curriculum, allowing them to really engage and become passionate about their subjects.

“A clean sweep of the highest grades in Further Mathematics also shows our ability to stretch and challenge the most capable of students.

“We expect many of our Year 11 students to continue their Science and Mathematics studies at THS Sixth Form and we will no doubt be celebrating their further success in years to come.”
