How to Apply

Visit Teesside High School

The first stage of the admissions process is to come and visit us. We find most parents believe our website and prospectus cannot do our unique atmosphere and personalised learning environment justice. We can offer you a personal consultation as well as a guided tour of the school. This will give you the opportunity to discuss your individual circumstances and ask any questions you may have about Teesside High School or independent education in general.

Taster Day

Next, we invite your son or daughter to spend time with us through a Taster Day. This will enable them to get a feel for life at Teesside High School; meeting their teachers, sharing their interests with their Form, enjoying extra-curricular clubs and activities and socialising with friends in our expansive grounds.

Report

We will request a copy of your child’s latest school report and a reference from their current Head.

Offer

Once a successful Taster Day has been completed and satisfactory references obtained, we issue a formal offer to parents/families. We appreciate the decision to choose a school is not taken lightly, so offers are held open for one calendar month. Acceptance forms and terms and conditions are issued at this stage.

Transition

When acceptance forms are received by school, signed and completed, we make arrangements as to the best start date for your child and ensure the smoothest possible transition to THS. Over 90% of students who attend a Taster Day subsequently enrol at our school, and we believe our small, caring and personalised nature helps each child settle in easily in their new setting.

If you have any questions regarding admissions, please contact our Head of Marketing and Admissions, Miss Hockney, or our Admissions Assistant, Mrs Shipley, on 01642 782095.
