Teesside High School – Trip to Barcelona
Tuesday 02 July 2024 | By System AdminFollowing on from our hugely successful and enjoyable trip to Paris last year, I am delighted to share with you a proposed itinerary for a multi-subject cultural enrichment trip to Barcelona in July 2025. This trip is open to pupils in Years 7-12 and makes strong curriculum links to a wide range of subjects, including STEM, Food and Nutrition, Art, Music and MFL, to name but a few.
The final itinerary has yet to be fully confirmed but we are excited to be planning visits to the following as part of the trip and an example itinerary has been included below. The provisional dates are Tuesday 8 July to Monday 14 July, though this may change slightly depending on availability.
- Return executive coach travel
- Four nights’ accommodation on a half board basis
- Flamenco Show with evening meal
- Entry to Sagrada Familia with guided tour
- Visit to Poble Espanyol Paella cooking workshop & lunch
- Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit tour
- Visit to Picasso Museum.
These are just some of the wide variety of activities that could form part of our final programme, and we will be squeezing in as much as possible to make the most of our visit. Miss Ignirri has kindly agreed to run an Enrichment activity next academic year which will focus on beginner’s Spanish, giving our students an opportunity to learn the basics of another language and then put it into practice on the trip.
Our Accommodation – H Top Hotels – Hotel Royal Sun 4*, Calella
Ideally located on the Santa Susanna Promenade, the Royal Sun Hotel is only a 7-minute walk away from the beach and only a stone’s throw from the centre of Santa Susanna itself. Meals at the hotel are served buffet style in the main restaurant. Facilities include:

At Teesside High, we constantly seek to provide enrichment opportunities for our students so they can experience the wider world and all the cultural aspects of a cosmopolitan city like Barcelona. Launching this trip now means we can significantly plan ahead to allow as many students as possible to come with us on this exciting journey. Further details on the costs for this trip can be found in the letter circulated this week.
