Life before Teesside High School
I have always loved working with children and so straight from school I trained to be a primary school teacher and even became a deputy head down in Hampshire. After a change in circumstances, I re-evaluated work/life balance and decided to leave education. Over the last few years, I have been trying to find that balance and the call of education grew louder!
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I know how much pressure there is when being a teacher, so I just love knowing I am easing that for the rest of the staff in school. Not only that, but I get to interact with the children everyday. I get to hear about all the amazing things they have been up to. It’s just the best of both worlds.
What do you enjoy most about Teesside High School?
From my interview I have always felt such a warmth at Teesside High. The children are so excited and love to learn and that feeling is infectious.
What is your favourite time of the year?
I am so looking forward to the magic of Christmas with the children. The children’s excitement goes up a level and I love to see that sparkle in their eyes.
What do others say about you?
It’s so difficult to talk about yourself. I like to think my friends would say I am caring. I get just as much joy from a spa day, as I would for helping my friend build their patio or offer to babysit. In fact, that’s what I am doing this weekend! I love being busy and helping someone is just a bonus.
